TROUBLESHOOTING GREEN ALGAE OR DULL GREEN WATER

Previous Troubleshooting Tip: Scale and Stains

Next Troubleshooting Tip: Brown, Mustard or Yellow Algae

  • Often this is often a sign of low chlorine levels in your pool or spa water
  • Test and adjust the pH level of the water to 7.4
  • Shock in the evening using a Kem-Tek Step 3 shock product at two or three times the normal shock treatment
  • Treat pool with Mustard Algaecide and run your filter for 24 hours
  • After the 24 hours, use any of the following: Algaecide 60% Concentrated, Green Algaecide, Phosphate Remover or Algaecide and Clarifier as part of your normal maintenance to help prevent further problems
  • Use Ultra Clarifier to help filter out difficult-to-remove dead algae
